Falz details why Nigerian musicians no longer use good lyrics in their songs

Many have wondered why Nigerian musicians no longer make use of good lyrics in their songsNigerian music may be getting plaudits all over the world, but one thing that still draws strong criticism is the dearth of good lyrics in most songs.

Speaking in a recent interview, popular musician and actor Folarin Falana aka Falz has given an explanation as to why this is.

According to him, it is because Nigerians like dance able songs that are why many musicians do not pay attention to their lyrics. He also said he pays attention to lyrics in his own songs.Falz said, “It is correct to say that a lot of artists are not concerned about lyrical content because they know that the Nigerian people just want to dance. However, a few musicians still pay attention to lyrical content. I personally pay a lot of attention to that.

Falz (Image courtesy Instagram) Music shouldn’t be about the beats alone. Good music is a good blend of everything – good beat, good message and nice melody,” he told NAN.
