Don Jazzy reacts to Onyeka Nwelue’s article that claims he is broke, true talk he said

- Don Jazzy has reacted to Nwelue's article Hong Kong based Nigerian English lecturer, Onyeka Nwelue, recently wrote a viral article in which the writer claimed that most Nigerian celebrities are broke and not as rich as they portray.

He specifically mentioned that the Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy lives as a tenant and is broke, Linda Ikeji is not a celeb, D’banj is hustling and Davido spends all his money to live up to celeb status.

In the viral article Nwelue's titled Hip-Hop is only for children:

“Garb yourself with some self-esteem, self-confidence and self-pride. We are all poor. Us and the celebrities. All the celebrities in Nigeria. Linda Ikeji is not a celebrity. She is a business woman. So she is not one of those broke celebrities."

Onyeka Nwelue claims Nigerian celebrities are broke"Every celebrity in Nigeria is broke. They are like me. They don't have the money they tell you they have. Many of them I have seen their bank statements. I don't care if they start avoiding me now. I know better. Stop feeling inadequate, young people. You see as I beg for money publicly, that is how these celebrities suffer and beg for money secretly.”

He went further by calling out celebrities Nigerians see as being on top of their career and are also wealthy. He claimed that Don Jazzy, D’banj and Davido are not rich but rather two gospel acts, Sinach and Frank Edwards are richer than them.

Don Jazzy and Linda Ikeji“Don Jazzy is a tenant. He is broke. Forget everything.

D'Banj is hustling every day to feed. Davido spends the money they pay for every show. Sinach and Frank Edwards are richer than these guys. This, I know! I am tired of all the social media haranguing and brouhaha and lies and show! And you will say, How e take concern you?”

He claimed he is more concerned about naive Nigerians who think they are poor and not famous.

“I am angrily writing this because those of you who feel because you are not famous and so you think you are poor, remember it is the little cash that you people send to our accounts that make us dey do iyanga. “

He also talked about celebrities flaunting their wealth on social media

“When you talk about wealth, people who are wealthy don't throw them around on social media.”

Well the ever playful music label boss has reacted Nwelue‘s viral article in which he mentioned him.
